Graduation Requirements


The Colorado Early Colleges Board of Directors has established the following graduation requirements for all students pursuing graduation. All the following criteria must be met for a student to graduate:

All Colorado Early Colleges graduates must demonstrate college or career readiness based on at least one measure in English and one measure in math listed in the Menu of College and Career-Ready Demonstration established by the Colorado Department of Education.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian


Requirements to qualify as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian are as follows:

  1. Must graduate Summa Cum Laude Diploma with High Honors
  2. Must have earned at least an associate degree or 60 college credits toward a bachelor’s degree
  3. Must walk in the graduation ceremony
  4. Must give a speech or special presentation during the ceremony
  5. Must earn an Endorsed Diploma if the school offers one
  6. Must be classified as graduating by December 1 of graduating school year

Preparing for your high-school graduation while applying to colleges, can be overwhelming. To help, we’ve put together a list of tasks to do each month. (This list is under construction)



  • Complete the online Graduation Application before your spring academic advising appointment.
  • Pay attention to early application deadlines for the colleges to which you are applying.
  • Register to retake ACT &/or SAT tests if original scores were lower than desired.
  • Begin requesting letters of recommendation for college applications. Email staff directly for recommendations.
  • Fall is a great time to take your senior photos! 
  • Start FAFSA application



  • Submit college applications and plan visits (ongoing)
  • If needed, submit CECI Transcript Correction Forms to Ms. Jameson.
  • Graduating from Community College of Aurora? Log into your MYCCA portal to apply for graduation.
  • Request CECI Transcripts through Parchment.


  • Deadline to apply for Community College of Aurora graduation in Spring 2020 to receive AA/AS degree is December 1
  • CECI Transcript Correction Form due to Ms. Jameson by December 1
  • CECI Graduation Application Form due to Ms. Jameson by December 1



  • Order yearbook (link to order coming soon)
  • Complete FAFSA application
  • Senior Pictures and Senior Ads due (T.B.D). 
  • Apply for college scholarships (ongoing)
  • Complete and submit college financial aid applications
  • Submit college applications, if not already done
  • Graduating from Pikes Peak CC? Apply for graduation here.
  • Graduating from Red Rocks CC in the spring? Apply for graduation here.



  • CECI auditions for walking graduates wishing to perform in the ceremony is T.B.D.
  • Contact the admissions office for the college(s) to which you have applied, and make sure you have submitted all necessary paperwork
  • Deadline to apply for Red Rocks CC graduation Spring 2020 to receive AA/AS degree is February 6
  • Deadline to apply for Pikes Peak CC graduation Spring 2020 to receive AA/AS degree is February 15
  • Place Jostens order for graduation announcements (link to order coming soon)
  • Graduating from ACC? Apply for graduation here.



  • Contact the financial aid office at the college(s) and make sure your information was received
  • Deadline to apply for Arapahoe CC graduation in Spring 2020 to receive AA/AS degree is March 15
  • Order cap and gown (link to order coming soon)



  • CECI Post-Graduate Questionnaire Form due to Ms. Sundeen.



  • Decide on which college you are attending and notify the school by May 1
  • CECI fees and books due by (Date and Time T.B.D.) (diplomas and transcripts will be held until balance is current)
  • CECI Yearbooks arrive and distributed
  • Graduation Rehearsal: Date and Time T.B.D.
  • Senior Breakfast: Date and Time T.B.D.
  • CECI Graduation T.B.D.


  • CECI diplomas available for pickup in front office in June (account must be current; records will not be released if there is a balance on the student )
  • Send final transcript to the college you plan on attending
